3 killed, 10 injured in two road accidents

Tirupati:  Three persons including two drivers were killed on the spot and two others seriously injured when two lorries collided head-on near Mamandur under Renigunta police limits, here today.

Renigunta Sub-Inspector Siva Anjaneyulu told UNI that the mishap occurred when a chemical-loadden lorry, proceeding to Chennai from Kadapa, collided with an empty-lorry proceeding to Kadapa from Tamil Naidu. The deceased were identified as Pinu (18), Balu (25) and Prasad (23).

The injured were shifted to Government Ruia Hospital, Tirupati, the SI said.

In another accident, eight pilgrims were injured, three of them seriously when a tempo in which they were travelling overturned on First Ghat Road between Tirumala and Tirupati.

The injured were admitted to the same hospital, police said.
