Chennai: Twenty people were killed and 21 others injured, several of them seriously, in two separate road accidents in Tamil Nadu today.

Reports received here said 14 people, including six women, were killed, 13 on the spot, and ten others injured, five of them seriously in a multiple collision involving a sand-laden lorry, a tempo van and two cars near Karnampettai at Palladam in Tiruppur district.

In the other accident, six people were killed and 11 others injured, when the milk van, in which they were travelling, hit a road side tree and overturned at Musiri in Tiruchirapalli district.
