6 killed, 7 injured in 3 road accidents in Saurashtra

Rajkot: Atleast six people were killed and seven others injured in three road accidents in Saurashtra region of Gujarat.

In the first mishap, three people including a woman and her 10-month-old girl were killed and three others injured, when a Jeep in which they were travelling overturned near Padadhari, on the Rajkot-Jamnagar highway, about 25 kms from here, yesterday. The injured have been admitted to Rajkot civil Hospital.

The deceased were identified as Deepaben Bechani (28), her daughter Nistha and Hansaben Vaja (45), police said.

In another mishap, one person was killed and another injured when a speeding Jeep hit their motor-cycle, near Gauridad village, on Rajkot-Morbi highway, about 10 kms from here, yesterday.

The injured has been rushed to Rajkot civil hospital.

The deceased was identified as Halubhai Somabhai (25), police said.

In the third accident, two persons were killed and three others injured when their Chakkdo-Rickshaw collided with a speeding Tanker, in Dharnagadhra of Surendranagar district. The injured have been admitted to Dhrangadhra hospital. The deceased were identified as Chakkdo-Rickshaw driver Gopal Hirabhai (30) and Shankarbhai Koli (55), police said.
