It was also decided at the meeting that the Secretary , RT&H will call a meeting with DIAL, NHAI, PWD, Delhi to decide on the agency for implementation of the Northern Underpass on NH-8 for connectivity to Delhi airports.

The delay in land acquisitions by the Delhi Government is causing delays to NHAI for speeding up the work for the Badarpur Flyover. The Minister requested the Delhi Chief Minister to expedite the same and provide land to check further delay. The Chief Minister assured the Minister to sort out the issue at the earliest. The work for this project has been awarded in June 2008 on BOT (toll) basis with a concession period of 20 years.

Shri Nath apprised Smt. Dikshit of the discussions he held in this regard with the Haryana Chief Minister Shri B.S Hooda. The Haryana Government has mooted out the Northern Peripheral Expressway and the Southern Peripheral Expressway projects for this purpose which requires tying up traffic circulation needs of Delhi also. Smt. Dikshit welcomed NHAI taking up the work on this on the Delhi side but sought time for consultations with MCD on this.
